Mijn "Circle of Friends : the Dance" is door het Nederlandse Quiltersgilde geselecteerd voor de Nederlandse deelname van de European Quilt Association aan de:

De Circle of Friends: the Dance is een 30 cm ronde quilt in de kleuren blauw, wit en zwart.
Inspiratie is de tv uitzending van de" Riverdance" uitvoering "in China" van afgelopen Oudejaarsavond. Daarin waren dansers te zien van bovenaf waarbij de rokken van de danseressen als cirkels uitwaaierden door de vaart waarmee zij ronddansten.
Op de achterkant van de quilt is te zien hoe het quiltpatroon van de keltiche motieven eerst zijn gequilt. Daarna zijn de de dansfiguren van zelf geverfde blauwe stof en met zwart en wit gesjabloneerde hoofd- en armvormen op de quilt geappliceerd. Vlecht en keltisch motief op de rok zijn handgeborduurd
Tijdens "The Festival of Quilts"" in Birmingham zal mijn 114 cm doorsnee ronde quilt "Festival of Celtic Dance" te zien zijn in de Catagory The QuiltersGuilds Challenge : thema "Festival".
Hierbij al vast twee details van de quilt met dezelfde inspiratiebron. Nu met meer kleuren zelfgeverfde stoffen. De bovenste foto laat het midden van de quilt zien. De onderste ook het middelste danserspaar maar nu met het door het snel ronddansen opwaaiende rokgedeelte.

The quilt is 30cm round and made ith the colors blue, white and black. Inspiration is the dancing couples seen from above at the "Riverdance in China show"shown on the television at New Years eve 2010. The skirts of the ladies go wide round when they dance in great speed. On the back you can see the quiltingpatron of Celtic motives. The dancing couples of self dyed blue cotton are stichted on and have handembroidered plait and rim.
For the "The Quilters Guild Challenge, Theme: Festival" I have send in the "Festival Of Celtic Dance". A quilt of 114 cm round with the same insparation but now in more purpase made color cottons . on forehand two pictures from the middle of the quilt. The middle dancing couple and seen from aside with the skirt part that 's blown up by the speed of the dance.
